Fundraising fever in Croxteth!

Kathy Knibb recently presented a fantastic donation of £5,000 to local cancer charity, Woodlands Hospice, following two successful fundraising events held in Alt Valley Skills Centre and Croxteth Sport Centre in June.

The events, Dave’s Fun Day and Dave’s Night, were hosted in memory of Kathy’s husband, David Knibb, who was cared for at the hospice. This brings Kathy’s fundraising to a total of £6,600, an incredible achievement.

Carole Riley, from Woodland Hospice, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Kathy, her family and friends and to the Croxteth community for supporting a very local charity – Woodlands Hospice – your efforts mean a great deal to us.”

Woodlands Hospice have to raise £3,500 a day to continue their work. To remember a loved one, you can dedicate one of their hand-crafted forget-me-not flowers, that will be on display in the hospice throughout July and August; the staff invite you come and see the display, collect your flower and chat to the hospice staff about their work. As well as remembering a loved one, you will enable the hospice to carry on supporting people at a very difficult point in their life.

Bucket collections and bag packing is another vital way the hospice raise funds. To get involved, or to buy a flower, please contact Christine or Carole on 0151 529 8117 or 0151 529 4143, or by email: carole.riley@aintree.nhs.uk or christine.peach@aintree.nhs.uk.
