Our main goal at the heart of Alt Valley Community Trust is to improve the lives of local people. Through community engagement, we try to empower people to make decisions, implement change, and improve their quality of life through direct local action.
Our Community Hubs
Built in the 1950s as a nursing home, the Communiversity is our head office based in the heart of Croxteth. It has been serving our community since 2000 and acts as a base for many of our Adult Education courses.

Ellergreen was taken over by Alt Valley in January 2016, after steps had been made by the council to close it down. Located in the centre of Norris Green, it is a hive of activity, and is home to a number of other charities and small businesses.

Since taking over Dovecot MAC in 2014 from Liverpool City Council, Alt Valley has heavily invested in refurbishing the centre to create a warm, welcoming community and training hub. As one of the largest community centres in the country, it boasts a library, gym, computer suites, training facilities, and a conference room, as well as hosting a range of small organisations and wellbeing activities.

Although based within our three community hubs, our community champions are often out and about within our communities. Community champions act as a link between the local authority, voluntary sector providers, and local people. They help to engage people with their community, as well as support local events and activities held led by other organisations.
Our community team work predominantly in the Croxteth, Norris Green, Dovecot, Yew Tree, Knotty Ash, Old Swan and Clubmoor areas; however, we are always willing to offer support, advice, and guidance to people outside of these areas.
